Rosalie Hopkins, PhD
As the President of Bianco Hopkins, Rosalie Hopkins steers the company's technological and service innovations. Dr. Hopkins received a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Delaware. Her graduate degrees include a Master's degree from the University of Delaware and a PhD from the University of Georgia.
In 1970, she began her career as an English teacher, but left the classroom six years later to pursue advanced education opportunities. In 1976, she was selected as an instructional designer for the P.L.A.T.O. project—a landmark study that sought to answer the question, "Can people learn using computers?" Although she did not know it at the time, answering that question would become the foundation of her life's work.
In 1985, after successfully working as a training developer and writer with Texas Instruments, Peachtree Software, and Quadram Corporation, she founded Bianco Hopkins & Associates. Bianco Hopkins' early work focused on documenting hardware and software systems. Even before CBT (Computer-based Training) was popular, Dr. Hopkins pursued its advancement, recognizing that learning at one's own pace could have great benefits for children and adults.
Now, as eLearning and Distance Learning have become the hot training topics of the day, Rosalie Hopkins has positioned Bianco Hopkins to reap the benefits of her earliest convictions: Yes, people CAN learn using computers!
Building on this idea, in 2000, Bianco Hopkins was asked to help design the 2Work!™ EPSS, an Electronic Performance Support System that is now patented. In 2003, Bianco Hopkins helped create a complete training program that relies solely on the use of self-directed learning supported entirely with the 2Work! Electronic Performance Support System instead of a traditional “training” program.
